I've tried opening the file with the console open and no error messages appear, I did try running it via the terminal and received the log below in return, no error message window but also the server didn't start - I'm able to run "minecraft_server.1.16.3.jar" just fine but as far as I know I have to run "forge-1.16.3-34.1.42.jar" to start the modded server but let me know if I'm wrong. Check the Console for possible error messages.
#OSX JAR LAUNCHER HOW TO#
I've been following instructions as how to install the server, but after installing the server, agreeing to the EULA, launching the server (minecraft_server.1.16.3.jar), launching "forge-1.16.3-34.1.42.jar" to create the mods folder etc and adding Biomes O Plenty to the server's mod folder I'm then unable to open "forge-1.16.3-34.1.42.jar" with "Jar Launcher (default) 15.0.1" I instead get this error message: The Java JAR file "forge-1.16.3-34.1.42.jar" could not be launched.
(As a note I tried this first with the recommended version 1.16.3 - 34.1.0 but I wasn't able to run Biomes O Plenty on that version and I had the same issue with the server as below anyway.) I've installed the most recent Forge Client 1.16.3-forge-34.1.42 and it appears to work on single player, I've used BiomesOPlenty-1.16.3-12.0.0.417-universal.jar as a test. Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 15.0.1+9-18, mixed mode, sharing) Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 15.0.1+9-18) I'm attempting to start a local network modded server - I'm running Minecraft version 1.16.4 on macOS Mojave 10.14.6
Hello all, hope I get all the info down you need let me know if I've missed anything - also I'm sorry i'm a real novice when it comes to this stuff, if it's possible to get the dummy version that would be very appreciated EDIT: Just FYI I'm in the UK and been bashing away at this for what feels like a millennia and it's now 00:20 midnight, so I'm probably just going to go to bed, but if anyone responds to this before 8am UK time I'll check it out in the morning! Thanks again!
